Man's arm caught in rock-crusher

A man received serious injuries after getting his arm caught in a rock crusher at a Caledon business Nov. 12.

Caledon Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to the call Nov. 12 at approximately 3:43 pm. at Graham Construction located at 17674 Willoughby Rd. Upon arrival firefighters found an employee with an arm entrapped in a rock-crushing machine. An additional squad was requested from the Alton Fire Station to provide additional firefighters and rescue equipment. Firefighters worked for close to 30 minutes to free the entrapped employee using power tools and a manual spreader. Once extricated, the man was transported to the Brampton Hospital with serious arm injuries.

The OPP and Ministry of Labour are investigating. On scene were fire personnel from Caledon Village and Alton fire stations, Peel EMS and Caledon OPP.
