Municipalities responsible

A few years ago it was Mike Harris's fault; last year it was the Region's (Mayor McCallion wanted out); this year it is Harper's fault. Mississauga is responsible for its own mismanagement. When growth was rampant and tons of developer fees were coming in, why wasn't a rainy day fund planned so that all these needs could now be addressed? Anyone in politics, or who took a civics course, knows that cities fall under The Municipal Act- a provincial matter. The federal government is responsible for national issues like defence, tax revenue, etc.

Our own council recently had the courage and foresight to say no to unmanageable development and stick to a livable plan. Kudos to Mayor Morrison and those who voted with her.
