Fifth season for concerts

This year marks the fifth season of the Caledon Chamber Concerts. The next concert in the 2007/08 season takes place Sunday, Nov. 18 at 3 p.m. and features the Georgetown Bach Chorale and Chamber Orchestra. The choir will present excerpts from Cantatas 61, 62 and 109 by J. S. Bach; Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem by Henry Purcell; Vivaldi's Magnificat; and J. S. Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring. Instrumental works featured will be Albinoni's well known Adagio in G Minor and Bach's Concerto for Three Harpsichords in D Minor in which conductor and music director Ron Greidanus will be joined by two of his students, Matthew Pope and Clara Wilson.

The Georgetown Bach Chorale, a 20-voice auditioned chamber choir, was founded eight years ago by its current music director and has establish a reputation for high performance standards and authentic interpretations of Baroque music.

The concert takes place in St. James Anglican Church, Caledon East. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at Forster's Book Garden in Bolton, Berney's Pro Hardware in Caledon East, and BookLore in Orangeville.
