Church hosts parenting seminar

Caledon Hills Fellowship Baptist Church (CHFBC) is pleased to host The Five Cries of Caring Parents, Tuesday, Nov. 20.

This two-hour interactive, multi-media presentation with youth culture specialist Paul Robertson, is designed to help parents understand themselves; know their kids; build close caring families, and instill strong moral beliefs and personal faith in their children.

"I am excited that our church family is able to host this evening of encouragement for parents in the comfort of our new church building in Caledon East," said Associate Pastor Brian Carnahan.

Robertson's seminar focuses on the dangers and challenges facing youth in today's changing world such as media and peer pressure.

"Every caring parent needs to be willing to take an honest look at their own lives to ensure they are doing the best they can," said Robertson.

This seminar aims to equip parents with the necessary tools to understand their children and the world they are living in. The four essentials for family closeness, harmony, communication, nurturance and discipline will be developed with practical helps for parents.

"As a community of faith, Caledon Hills want to bless the many families living in Caledon by offering this timely event. Paul's knowledge of today's youth culture and passion for strong families will make this a memorable evening and a wise investment of time for all who make the time to attend," said Carnahan.

Robertson is the youth culture specialist for Youth Unlimited (Toronto YFC). He has been working with youth and parents for 33 years and has spoken extensively throughout Canada and the U.S.

The seminar Nov. 20 at Caledon Hills Fellowship Baptist Church on Airport Road runs 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The cost is $8 per person or $10 per couple. For more, call 905- 584-9525 or visit chfbc.ca.
