CCS lauds act of kindness Have you ever answered the phone, heard the words "charitable" or "not-for-profit" and the first thing you think is, "they're calling for a donation"? Well, that's not always the case. Caledon Community Services has been serving this community since 1971. We work pretty hard to raise our own funds and we do a very good job of it daily in our two stores: Chez Thrift (301 Queen Street South) and the ReUstore (109 Industrial Road). These stores saved more than 600,000 pounds of reusable goods from our landfill last year alone. As both of them expand, we recognize that our business partners help us immensely. I would like to thank Joe Leo, president of Recycle Trade Incorporated on Browning Court, for allowing us to use his weight service, without charge, this past month. As our salvage operation expands, so does our commitment to recycle reusable goods. It's these simple acts of kindness that help us deliver real value to our community. We know that there are many business partners in Caledon that want to partner and lend a hand. Sometimes it's the small things that turn "impossible" for our two stores into "done!" Once again, thanks Mr. Leo, it's nice to know that there are business merchants out there who want to use their own resources to support our community-minded business. Indeed, we're in the business of supporting our community so drop in, donate, buy great stuff and let me know if you think you can help us take our services to the next level. We have big things in store over the coming year for both Chez Thrift and the ReUstore. Rose Berezowsky Stores Manager Caledon Community Services |
