Caledon East resident Helen E. Gardiner was invested into the Order of Canada by

Governor General Michaelle Jean during Friday's 100th investiture ceremony at

Rideau Hall in Ottawa. Gardiner co-founded Toronto's Gardiner Museum and was

also recognized for her philanthropy which has benefited the National Ballet of

Canada, Canadian Opera Company, Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto Symphony

Orchestra, Textile Museum of Canada and the Soulpepper Theatre.
