Armed bank robbery in Caledon East Oct. 25

At roughly 1:16 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, a male walked into a bank on Airport Road in Caledon East and demanded cash from the bank staff. The male was seen brandishing a handgun.

OPP said the suspect fled the bank after being given an unknown amount of money. A possible get away car was observed leaving the area from a parked position on Parsons Avenue to northbound Ivan Avenue.

No one in the bank was injured.

The suspect is described as male, white, 30-35 years of age, approximately 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He was wearing jeans, a black lightweight jacket and a balaclava.

The vehicle is described as a black, two-door Honda Civic with tinted windows.

Caledon OPP Crime Unit members are investigating. Anyone with information pertaining to this investigation or a possible suspect is asked to contact Detective Constable Karen Medeiros at 519-927-3041.
