Minor bantam AEs launch season

The Caledon Hawks minor bantam AE team began their start to the season in Fergus, Sept. 25.

Just like the weather, the Hawks were hot. The Fergus guys were big and were pushing hard to make their mark, however, with every shot they took, Hawks goalie Dylan Farrow was there to stop the puck time and time again. With only 46 seconds left in the first, Caledon took control of the puck and headed down the ice, where Chris Sabaziotis handed the puck over to Nick Wheeler who hurled it into the net.

In the second period, the guys from Fergus came out strong and just like the first period, Farrow was perfect between the pipes.

Although he didn't score, Michael Newman took advantage of a power play and the one-man rush headed down the ice. His energy did, however, spark his teammates to take the next three goals. Lucas Guadagnini got the first of the three, assisted by Tyler Goertzen. John Sheridan got a deuce by grabbing the next two, assisted by Wheeler, Sabaziotis, Guadagnini and Tyler Begley. The period ended with the Hawks ahead 4-0.

The action continued in the third as both teams kept the fans on the edge of their seats. But it was the Caledon fans who cheered first as Michael Bozzo, assisted by Daniel Kozluk collected yet another point for the Hawks.

With 5 minutes to go Farrow's shutout was stolen from him as the opposition got their first and final of the night. The Caledon Hawks took the win with a score of 5-1. Coaches awarded Farrow with player of the game.
