13 not so lucky in HTA Sec. 172(1) charges Traffic Caledon OPP Officers responded to four property damage and 14 personal injury collisions during the week ending Oct. 15. OPP charged 13 motorists under Section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act. These motorists received seven-day driving suspensions and the vehicles impoundment for seven days. Oct. 8, a 20-year-old Nobleton man was charged on Anne and Sterne Streets in Bolton. A 66-year-old Bramalea man was charged in the 410 and Mayfield Road area Oct. 10. A 32-year-old female from Brampton was charged Oct. 10 in the same area, as was a 19-year-old Brampton man the same day. An Erin man, 45, was charged Oct. 10 in the Winston Churchill- Charleston Sideroad area. A Brampton male, 20, was charged at Highway 10 and The Grange Sideroad Oct. 10. Oct. 11, a 24-year-old Brampton man was charged at the 410 and Mayfield Road. A Caledon man, 31, was charged Oct. 13 at Mayfield Road and Winston Churchill. Oct. 13 at Heart Lake Road and Charleston saw a 22-year-old Oakville man charged. A Brampton man, 27, and a 33-year-old Orangeville woman were charged Oct. 13 (separate incidents) at Highway 10 and the Grange. A 23-year-old Orangeville woman was charged Oct. 14 at Heart Lake Road and Charleston, while a 24-year-old York man was charged that day at Heart Lake Road and Escarpment Sideroad. Alcohol & Driving Friday, Oct. 12, a driver was charged following a single motor vehicle collision on Old Church Road near Duffy's Lane in Caledon. Michelle Hertz, 52, of Caledon, was charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. of Blood. She will appear in court Nov. 29. Friday, Oct. 12, a complaint received from a motorist on Airport Road near Healey Road led to a vehicle check by an officer. Jaroslaw Kosarga, 40, of Mississauga, was charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. of Blood and will appear in court Nov. 15. Break & Enter Tuesday, Oct. 9, during the daytime hours, a back door of a residence on Pearl Street in Bolton was forced open. Cash and electronic equipment were stolen from the home. Wednesday, Oct. 10, a business on Highway 10 was entered during the night hours. A window was smashed to gain entry, however, nothing appears to have been taken. Drugs Thursday, Oct. 11, a traffic stop on Hickman Street in Bolton resulted in charges for both the male driver and female passenger of the car. Michael Brace, 29, of Caledon, and 21-year-old Amanda Fraccaro of Caledon were both charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance- Cocaine. Both were given a court date of Nov. 19. Mischief Monday, Oct. 8, a school bus parked at a school on Ellwood Drive in Bolton was damaged. A glass window was smashed. Saturday, Oct. 13, a home and a vehicle on Goodfellow Crescent in Bolton were damaged by eggs being thrown at them. Saturday, Oct. 13, several homes on Cedargrove Road in Bolton had decorative pumpkins smashed overnight. Monday, Oct. 1, tires of a vehicle parked on Wright Crescent in Bolton were reported to have been slashed sometime overnight. Wednesday, Oct. 3, two golf carts were reported stolen from a business on Beech Grove Sideroad. One cart was recovered in a ditch close by. Saturday, Oct. 6, motorist reports that at about 12:30 a.m. rocks were thrown at vehicles while they were travelling southbound on Regional Road 50 on the north hill of town. Saturday, Oct. 6, a 15- year-old male from Caledon received a police caution for Mischief under the Youth Criminal Justice Act after a Victoria Street homeowner awoke at 4:30 a.m. and saw someone get out of his vehicle parked in the driveway. Criminal Charges Monday, Oct. 1, an officer stopped a vehicle near King Street and Queen Street in Bolton for a Highway Traffic Act offence. The driver surrendered his driver's licence to the officer when requested, however, when the officer requested the driver to provide a breath sample into the roadside approved screening device, the driver fled on foot. The following day, the driver turned himself into police. Chad Winchester, 24, of Caledon, was charged with Obstruct Police, Failure to Provide Breath Sample, Operate a motor vehicle-No Insurance, Use plate Not Authorized and Drive Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available. Court date was set for Oct. 25. Recovered Vehicles Thursday, Oct. 11, a tractor trailer unit was recovered abandoned on George Bolton Parkway in Bolton. The tractor portion had a punched ignition when recovered and had been listed as stolen by Peel Regional Police. The trailer was listed as stolen from the Toronto area. Thursday, Oct. 11, a flat bed trailer reported stolen from York Region was recovered abandoned on Escarpment Sideroad near St. Andrew's Road in Caledon. Friday, Oct. 12, a vehicle was located abandoned in a provincial park parking lot in the northwest area of Caledon. The vehicle had been burnt out and the tires were missing as well as the seats, steering wheel and dashboard components. The vehicle wasn't listed as stolen when recovered. Sunday, Oct. 14, a vehicle reported stolen from the Toronto area was recovered abandoned in an embankment off of Finnerty Road near Innis Lake Road. Friday, Oct. 5, a cube van reported stolen to Nottawasaga OPP was located abandoned in Caledon at Finnerty Sideroad west of Innis Lake Road. The driver's side door and truck ignition had been punched. Theft Wednesday, Oct. 10, during the night hours, loose change was stolen from two vehicles parked at different driveways on Silver Valley Drive in Bolton. Wednesday, Oct. 10, a vehicle parked on Harvest Moon Drive in Bolton was entered during the night hours. A laptop, GPS and DVD player were all stolen from within. Thursday, Oct. 11, a window of a vehicle was smashed while parked in a commercial parking lot on Industrial Road during the afternoon hours. A briefcase was reported stolen. Thursday, Oct. 11, a purse was stolen from a car parked in a parking lot north of Bolton during the midday hours. The window of the vehicle was smashed to get at the purse. Friday, Oct. 12, during the night hours, several thousand dollars worth of copper wire was stolen from a construction site on Airport Road near Mayfield Road in Caledon.
