Apprenticeship information session on tap

Sherry Hunt
Earn while you learn. Hands-on, high-paying work. A chance to be your own boss … Does this sound interesting to you? You should try an apprenticeship in the skilled trades.

The skilled trades has been an important topic in the news. With hundreds of tradespersons such as electricians, millwrights, etc., retiring in the upcoming years, there will be hundreds of opportunities in the skilled trades industry. The province has recognized this need and has developed many programs to aid people interested in the skilled trades.

Join Sherry Hunt, from the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities, for a presentation on Skilled Trade Apprenticeships followed by a question and answer period. This free session will be held at Jobs Caledon, Caledon Community Services at 18 King Street in Bolton Wednesday, Oct. 24, 10 to 11:30 a.m.

"This is a great opportunity for people to find out more about apprenticeships and the trades", said Maureen Tymkow, Jobs Caledon facilitator. "Questions such as 'How do apprenticeships work?' and 'What is the Ministry's role?' will be addressed during the session."

To register for the presentation or for more information, please call Jobs Caledon, Caledon Community Services at 905- 951-2300, 905-584-9460 or visit www.caledoncommunityservices. org.
