Peewee AE Hawks win five straight

Caledon Hawks dominated Arthur Oct. 12 at Teen Ranch. The fifth game in two weeks was another win for the peewee AE Hawks.

The Hawks played an intense game, and Arthur couldn't get control of the puck. In the first period Jonas Cadham got the first goal in a scramble in front of the net. He then put the second goal in off a beautiful pass from Austin Pugliese. Corey French got his first of two goals despite having sat out the last game due to a minor injury. Mitchell Bulloch and Matthew Mijackovic assisted Corey's first goal. Cadham scored the fourth goal rounding out a hat trick assisted by Marco Olivieri.

The defence held the blue line the whole game, keeping it down to only 7 shots against the Hawks. In the third period with two Hawks in the box, French scored the fifth goal. Later in the third period Arthur got a break away with a good shot on net. Max Hussey denied the goal hanging on to the shut out. Finally Olivieri finished with a hard shot from a pass back by Pugliese.

Hawks play their 6th game at Centre 2000 in Erin Oct. 18 and Flamborough at Teen Ranch Friday.

The Hawks played a strong game in Dundas Oct. 1 coming away with a 2-1 win. Connor Gordon got the first goal, assisted by Austin Pugliese who came back to score the second goal assisted by Andrew Zunic. Defence players worked hard keeping opposing shots down, 17 to the Hawks' 27.

Back on home ice, the Hawks beat the Brampton Battalion 3-1. Brampton was a tough team, outshooting the Hawks, but Max Hussey worked hard in goal to keep the advantage. Matthew Mijackovic scored the first goal assisted by Cadham. Then Andrew Zunic scored the next goal off a pass from Corey French. Jonas Cadham got the third goal assisted by Andrew Zunic.

Saturday, Oct. 6, Brandon Frail played a great game in net for the team's first shut out in the 5-0 away game against the Elora Lightning. The Hawks racked up five goals. Gordon scored first off a play by Cadham, Bulloch and Andrew Tee. Zunic scored next assisted by Cadham who then scored the third goal from a pass by Pugliese. Mitchell Bulloch got the fourth goal assisted by Mijackovic. Marco Olivieri got the final goal assisted by Justin Core in the last few seconds of the game.
