Threats made with handgun

Wednesday, Oct. 3, a verbal altercation regarding a road rage incident took place between two drivers northbound on Regional Road 50, south of Bolton. One male threatened the other and followed him into a Bolton residential area before driving off.

Friday, Oct. 5, the male who had made the verbal threats confronted the 19-year-old brother of the driver from two days prior. The 19-year-old victim was standing on the sidewalk of Cedargrove Road with a male friend. The suspect approached the two men. He grabbed the shirt collar of the victim, threatened him while pointing what appeared to be a black handgun to the victim's chest. The suspect assaulted the victim by punching him before leaving the area in his vehicle.

Wednesday, Oct. 10, the suspect surrendered to police. Twenty-three-year-old Daniele Ranieri of Caledon was held for a bail hearing Oct. 10.

He was charged with Pointing a Firearm, Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats, Possession of a Firearm.
