Reverend Moore begins ministry at St. James

Rev. Wendy Moore
October 21 will mark the official beginning of Rev. Wendy Moore's ministry at St. James Anglican Church in Caledon East. At 4 p.m. Bishop Philip Poole, Bishop of York/Credit Valley Anglican Diocese of Toronto, will join the people of St. James and Rev. Wendy for a "Service of Institution."

St. James Anglican Church has long been a part of the history and fabric of Caledon East and has offered Sunday services, rich in the Anglican tradition, from its present location on Old Church Road, near Airport Road for more than 100 years. Its bells can be heard throughout the village every Sunday morning. Sunday services include an 8 a.m. one for the early risers, an 11 a.m.one with Sunday School for the younger members of the church. St. James also offers a Sunday service at 9:30 a.m., which is casual and informal and is intended to make the Christian experience more accessible and more easily understood.

St. James is a busy place - a centre of activity for all generations - with its doors open to various groups who join in a multitude of activities, from the local historical society meetings, yoga and various other activities, to bridge every Monday night.

Rev. Moore, a native Montrealer, and a graduate of McGill University, obtained her Masters of Divinity Degree from Wycliffe College in 2000. She was ordained that same year. Since her ordination, Wendy has served in Collingwood and in the Peterborough area before coming to serve at St. James Caledon East. She is looking forward with enthusiasm to ministering at St. James.

The people of St. James and Rev. Wendy invite everyone to join them Oct. 21 at the church for this happy occasion.
