The Other Side
Tapping into the gift?
By Hill Cox

People who tap into the other side of life are many - some good, most average and some not so good. And, of course, there are the con-artists who usually appear very good indeed until you study what they have actually said.

Fortunately, most folks who do this are well meaning and are just trying to help their fellow beings who are on a journey of discovery as they are.

Most of these folks have "discovered" whatever abilities they have without any formal training in the subject, and have usually not done much personal study either. This doesn't mean they are not good at what they do, after all, many "good" drivers don't have the faintest idea of how their vehicles work.

People who come to them for information and guidance do so because they have problems in their life. With this in mind, there is a risk of more harm than good being done if the person being consulted has a limited understanding of what it is all about.

Before you consider seeing someone for information "from the other side" you should know the fields in which they operate.

A person deemed a "psychic" will give you a reading; that is, information about you and your life. Some of it you may have known and forgotten, while some of it you may never have been aware of.

On the other hand, a "medium" is someone who communicates with personalities belonging to people we consider dead. If they were, there would be no communication of course. So, in effect, they are communicating with people who have left this type of existence for another. In the grand scheme of things, mediums are also psychic but tend to focus on their mediumship.

One thing is certain from my experience: These abilities are not "gifts" given to a chosen few. We all have them and can develop them to a higher level if we choose. In fact, we all use some of them now without realizing it.

Next time, we'll take a brief look at where science stands on the subjects.
