Minor bantam AE Hawks begin season with a bang
      The Caledon Hawks bantam AE team started the season in fine form with a 5- 1 win against Orangeville. Scott Foley scored the first goal of the year while Nick Wheeler added two and other singles from Michael Bozzo and Lucas Guadagnini added a marker when Caledon were two man short.

Caledon player aids in team's cup win
      A Bolton soccer player was instrumental in his team's first major title. The Winstars Academy was victorious in the first-ever SAAC Academy Cup Finals held at the BMO Field recently. Bolton's own Marco Roberti opened up the scoring in this exciting matchup.

Lightning peewees suffer first loss
      Caledon Lightning Peewee suffered their first loss this season to the Brampton Snipers recently. The Lightning, who played short-handed during all three periods, held out well.

Husky of the Week
      Sophie MacRae is the current Humberview Husky athlete of the week. Sophie, 15, is involved in crosscountry running, swimming, nordic skiing, track and field. The grade 10 student is on the Orangeville track and field team.

Atom AE Hawks were circling at tournament
      The Caledon Hawks Atom AE kicked off their season in fine style as a finalist in the Orangeville Earlybird Tournament. In game one of the tournament, the Hawks entered the second period down 1-0 to Georgina. Jake Stronach opened the Hawks' scoring on passes from Kevin Pleasance and Zach Wilson.

Girls hockey launches in Caledon
      The initial outings of the girls' hockey in Caledon were well attended. Atom, peewee, bantam and midget players hit the ice for the first time Sept. 30 at the new Caledon East Arena. The new league runs for 25 weeks, one hour each Sunday, through March 30, 2008.
