CYCLE, SKATE DRIVE FOR ORPHANAGE
Belarus orphan Alex Simejkin, who visited Caledon

this summer, lives at the Kostukovichi Orphanage in

Belarus, the area most affected by the Chernobyl

nuclear disaster. The orphanage is home to 150

children and has only 15 bicycles so a drop-off centre

in Bolton will be open for donations for gently used

sports equipment (skates, soccer equipment, etc.).

They will be personally delivered to the children by

volunteers with the Canadian Aid for Chernobyl next

March. The collection runs through Oct. 13 from 9

a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at McGillion Transport, 141

Healey Road, Bolton. For more information, please

contact Jennifer Hopson at 905-584-1814 or e-mail
