Small Business Week seminars

Professional development and continuing education is a reality to competing in today's business world.

The Caledon Chamber of Commerce and The Caledon Business Centre have organized a series of business seminars the week of Oct. 15-19 to assist Caledon entrepreneurs participate in unique, affordable professional development. Topics covered will range from business start-up, employment law, marketing, conflict resolution and interview techniques.

Highlights of the week will include a dinner meeting Oct. 15, featuring Pierre Cliché, author, business and retail consultant who will speak on the topic of "strengthening small town Ontario." This will be held at Glen Eagle Golf Club and will include a networking hour commencing at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $50.

Friday, Oct. 19 at Glen Eagle, Angela Longo, commissioner of revenue from the Ministry of Finance, is the keynote luncheon speaker. Angela will cover Bill 174, the new tax reporting system required of all businesses in Ontario. This timely topic will be relevant to all businesses and is an opportunity for you to hear how your company will benefit from recent streamlining of the corporate tax system.
