Criminal charge for disqualified driver

Collisions

Caledon OPP officers responded to 16 property damage and six personal injury collisions during the week ending Sept. 24.

High Miler

of the Week

Monday, Sept. 17 at about 10:08 a.m., a Caledon OPP officer observed a motor vehicle travelling at an extreme high rate of speed on Heart Lake Road near McGregor Drive in Caledon. Andrea Arsenault, 21, of Orangeville, was charged with Speeding-110 kilometres per hour in a 60- km-h posted zone. Court date for the 50-km-h over charge was set for Oct. 18.

Alcohol & Driving

Saturday, Sept. 22, a traffic stop on Castlederg Sideroad near Mount Wolfe Road for a Highway Traffic Act offence led to criminal charges for the driver. Karl Tratnik, 46, of Caledon, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. of Blood. He will appear in court Oct. 25.

Break & Enter Tuesday, Sept. 18, during the daytime hours a home on Castlederg Sideroad was entered by kicking in the front door. The homeowner returned home to find many items had been stolen such as electronic equipment, power tools, lawn tractor and a snow blower.

Drugs

Thursday, Sept. 20, a vehicle stopped at a RIDE spot check on Creditview Road and Olde Base Line Road resulted in a drug charge. The vehicle driver, 25-year-old Kinga Daradics of Brampton, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana. She will attend court Oct. 29.

Friday, Sept. 21, an officer conducting routine patrols on Centreville Creek Road at Highway 9 stopped a vehicle that was driving in a dangerous manner. The driver was subsequently arrested and charged with several offences. Bruno Caruso, 32, of Caledon, was charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Impaired Driving, Possession of Cocaine and Possession for the Purpose- Cocaine. He was held for a bail hearing. The passenger of the vehicle was also charged. Jodie Rand, 19, of Caledon, was charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession for the Purpose- Cocaine. She will appear in court Oct. 29.

Mischief

Wednesday, Sept. 19, several homeowners on Dominion Street near Forks of the Credit Road reported their mail was removed from mail boxes, ripped and thrown on to the street.

Criminal Charges

Tuesday, Sept. 18, a traffic stop on Airport Road near Old School Road led to a criminal charge for the driver. Benjamin Ponce, 47, of Brampton, was charged with the criminal offence of Drive Disqualified and will appear in court Oct. 25.

Theft

Tuesday, Sept. 18, an unlocked vehicle parked on Wright Crescent in Bolton was entered and the stereo faceplate was removed.

Friday, Sept. 21, sometime overnight, a fence was cut on an Airport Road property to allow the theft of a trailer loaded with a lawn tractor.

Saturday, Sept. 22, a golf cart was reported stolen from a course north of Bolton on Regional Road 50. Asecond golf cart was found damaged.

Sunday, Sept. 23, sometime overnight, a driver's licence was stolen from within a parked vehicle on Chester Drive in Caledon village.

Sunday, Sept. 23, a horse saddle was stolen sometime overnight from the equestrian park in Palgrave.
