Fund set up to remember sisters A group of friends of Isabel and Vanessa Diceglie, the Brampton sisters killed recently in a collision in Caledon, has started a trust fund in their memory. Crystal Morgado, Isabel's long-time friend, ,said half of the money raised will go to a scholarship for York University and the other half to the Traffic Injury Research Foundation. The mission of the Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF) is to reduce traffic related deaths and injuries. It achieves its mission by designing, promoting and implementing effective programs and policies, based on sound research (http://www.trafficinjuryresearch.com). Morgado said they haven't established as to where at York the money will go, because they're leaving it up to the parents to decide. Friend Connie Consiglio met Isabel 4-5 years ago and they became best friends. She says that she will just miss having them around. "They were great friends, loving, and very caring." Morgado met Isabel 11 years ago in elementary school. "She was my cousin's best friend growing up, so I remember her family quite well, while going over her house. I still spoke to her after we all left high school, on and off. They were very special girls, and everyone loved them. We will all miss them very much." The fund has been set up at the Canada Trust branch in Brampton, where Isabel worked - SpringDale Square Shopping centre, 55 Mountainash Road at Bovaird in Brampton, Ontario. But anyone can donate at any TD Bank. The account number is 6423513. If you'd like to donate with a cheque, make it out to Connie Consiglio in Trust of Isabel and Vanessa Diceglie, Transit # 1185. |
