ALTON'S 185TH BIRTHDAY

Local youngsters swarmed the special birthday cake made to celebrate Alton's 185th birthday, during a special ceremony Saturday. Councillor Allan Thompson (right) cut the first piece. The cake was provided by The Millcroft Inn. Photos by Mark Pavilons Local firefighters handed out goodies to the children who watched the parade for Alton's birthday. A short parade, led by the Fergus Pipe Band, entertained the crowd who lined the streets of Alton.
