Forster's holds short story contest

A story, a tale, a narrative, a yarn, lurking in the recesses of your mind for years, knocking like boiled potatoes against the pot lid anxious to get out. Have you a short story in your noggin looking for a life outside of your imagination? Forster's Book Garden, in conjunction with Giant Beaver Publications, has the perfect outlet for you.

Drop off your short story (between 1,600 and 3,000 words) at Forster's Book Garden and the top 10 (perhaps more) chosen by a panel of judges will be bound into a compilation volume and published by Giant Beaver Publications. Giant Beaver Publications has published the children's rainforest picture book Emma's Jungle Adventure by Bolton resident Mary Morsilli. The latest book published by Giant Beaver Publications, Phantom Dancers in the Moonlight, is a compilation of English and Italian poetry by Bolton's award-winning Ada Di Pietrantonio.

Contest stories may be of any genre with no restriction as to the author's age so long as the story will appeal to a young adult to adult audience. The number of stories that make it into the compilation may change depending on the length of the stories chosen.

So get out your ink bottles, dip your quills and let your creative juices flow. Literary fame or at least family recognition awaits you.

The deadline for submissions is Thursday, Nov. 1. Good luck to all.
