Residents urged to lock and secure vehicles

Collisions

Caledon OPP officers responded to 15 property damage and nine personal injury collisions during the week ending Sept. 17. Tragically, there was one motor vehicle collision that claimed the lives of two young women.

Alcohol & Driving

Friday, Sept. 14, a driver was charged following his involvement in a single motor vehicle collision at St. Andrew's Road and Olde Base Line Road. Kenneth Graham, 42, of Brampton, was charged with Drive While Disqualified, Impaired Driving and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He was held for a bail hearing Sept. 15.

Sunday, Sept. 16, a call from another motorist led to the arrest of a suspected drunk driver. The vehicle was stopped by police at Highway 10 and King Street in Caledon. The driver, 52- year-old Stanislaw Mielec of Mississauga, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood. He will appear in court Nov. 1.

Sunday, Sept. 16, involvement in a single motor vehicle collision on Mayfield Road near Heritage Road led to charges for the driver, 41-year-old Gerard Farrell of Mississauga. He was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood and will appear in court Nov. 1.

Break & Enter

Thursday, Sept. 13, during the morning hours, a rear window of a home on Gray Park Drive in Bolton was found open by the home owner when they returned to the residence. It doesn't appear that anything was taken from the home.

Monday, Sept. 3, some time over the weekend, a home on Brandiff Court in Caledon East was entered. Culprit(s) had used a ladder to gain access to a second story window of the home. Cash, jewellery and video games were stolen. Damages were also caused to the interior of the home.

Tuesday, Sept. 4, sometime over the previous weekend, culprit(s) entered a construction trailer at a site on Shaw's Creek Road in Belfountain. Construction tools were stolen.

Thursday, Sept. 6, a home on Cranston Drive in Caledon East was entered sometime between Monday and Thursday. It is unknown how the home was entered. Jewellery has been reported as stolen.

Saturday, Sept. 8, a business on Queensgate Boulevard was entered during the early morning hours. A front glass door was smashed to gain entry. Cash was reported stolen.

Mischief

Monday, Sept. 10, sometime over the weekend, two vehicles were damaged while left parked in a commercial parking lot located at the corner of King Street and Airport Road.

Wednesday, Sept. 12, sometime overnight, three vehicles were keyed while parked in the driveway of a Kennedy Road property.

Saturday, Sept. 15, a tire of a vehicle was found slashed when the vehicle owner went out to the car in the morning. The damage occurred during the night hours, while the vehicle was parked in a Ridge Road driveway in Bolton.

Thursday, Sept. 6, an unlocked vehicle parked on McCabe Crescent was entered during the night hours. Nothing was reported stolen.

Friday, Sept. 7, a patio canopy at the rear of a Stationview Place residence in Bolton was slashed during the afternoon or evening hours.

Sunday, Sept. 9, two brick light fixtures had been tampered with at the driveway of a McKee Drive home in Caledon East.

Sunday, Sept. 9, a garage of a Goodfellow Crescent home in Bolton was entered during the night hours. Golf clubs were reported stolen.

Male a parent

Since first reported that an adult male was observed video taping children at a school on Ellwood Drive in Bolton, it was confirmed that the "suspicious male" was indeed a parent of a child that attends the school. Parents can be reassured that at no time was the safety of their children at risk, however, police suggest that parents should still take this opportunity to talk to their children about street proofing and the dangers of talking to strangers.

Theft

Tuesday, Sept. 11, a wallet was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at a Robert Carson Drive residence in Caledon East. The theft is believed to have occurred the previous Saturday night.

Wednesday, Sept. 12, between 3 and 4 p.m., a wallet was removed from an unlocked vehicle parked at a Lawren Harris Crescent address in Bolton.

Tuesday, Sept. 4, an unlocked vehicle parked at an Ivan Avenue residence in Caledon East was entered during the night hours. Change from the ashtray and a highway transponder was stolen.

Thursday, Sept. 6, sometime overnight, a vehicle parked in a Manorwood Court driveway in Bolton was entered. Sunglasses, CDs, a recorder and vehicle papers were stolen.

Caledon OPP continues to receive reports of truck and car emblems being removed from vehicles parked in driveways of Bolton and Caledon East homes. Parents are asked to speak to their youth about the criminal offence of theft involved in taking an emblem off of a vehicle. Parents are also asked to contact police if they should come across a collection of hood emblems in the possession of their youth.

Tuesday, Aug. 28, a vehicle parked on Simcoe Street in Mono Mills was entered during the night hours. Various items were taken. Another vehicle on Simcoe Street was also entered and a cell phone was reported stolen.

Tuesday, Aug. 28, a cell phone was stolen from a parked vehicle on Simcoe Street in Mono Mills.

Wednesday, Aug. 29, a service station attendant at a gas station on Regional Road 50 was distracted by another customer when he believes that unknown suspect( s) entered the kiosk and stole cash and cigarettes.

Friday, Aug. 31, booster cables and a car manual were stolen from a parked vehicle on English Rose Lane in Bolton sometime overnight. A second vehicle at another residence on English Rose was also entered resulting in stolen cash and vehicle papers.
