Chamber hosts Oct. 2 debate

The Caledon Chamber of Commerce and Peel Federation of Agriculture are bringing the provincial candidates to centre stage, in the Oct. 2 all-candidates' debate at Caledon (East) Community Complex.

The event begins at 6 p.m. with a networking session until 7, when introductions will be made. Opening remarks from candidates will follow. A question and answer session will run 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. The event wraps up at roughly 9 p.m.

Charles Bristoll, Chamber board of directors chair, will act as MC and facilitator.

The target audience is primarily business people (Chamber members), but it's open to non-members.

Some questions will be written ahead of time by the Chamber's government affairs/policy committee. These questions will not be made available to candidates before the meeting.

As opening remarks each candidate will be sent a set of questions and will be given two minutes to address the audience as opening remarks.

Questions will not be received from the floor, and all questions will be read by the facilitator.

Cost to the members and general public is free.

Giving businesses the opportunity to interact with political candidates is an important service that the Chamber takes seriously and participation in this event is very much appreciated.
