Dangerous truck traffic

I would like to comment on the tragic death of those two beautiful young girls. It still astounds me that after being a resident here for 20 years, that we permit the trucks and the manner in which they drive.

As a community, we should have zero tolerance for violations. Highway 50 is a driving nightmare - trucks basically just take over, using their massive weight and throwing it around. I have witnessed red light running, speeding, improper lane changes, etc.

While I see a big problem, I also see a solution. How about designated times for trucks, to get them off our streets when we are using them? It's not a "fair fight" as the chances of surviving a car/tractor trailer collision would obviously be in favour of the truck driver.

The current situation is so dangerous and as a community we should pull together and stop complaining and using our voices, and our rights as drivers as human beings, with something to lose - our precious lives.

Handing out $1,000 fines would not hurt either.
