Farm fined for illegal pond Iron Horse Farms Inc. in Caledon has been fined $17,500 for illegal construction of a pond without a Niagara Escarpment Development Permit. The company pleaded guilty before the Ontario Court of Justice in Caledon June 20. During October and November of 2005 Iron Horse Farms Inc. constructed a pond on its property located at the west half of Lot 5, Concession 3, in the Town of Caledon. The property is in an area covered by Niagara Escarpment development control regulations, requiring a Niagara Escarpment Development Permit for most types of development proposals. |
