Tapas lunch helps 'Kids and Horses'

As the Kids and Horses Foundation approaches its second anniversary, it is celebrating its many successes by holding a Spanish-themed Tapas lunch. The lunch will be in the VIP tent at the Tournament of Champions, held at the Caledon Equestrian Park, Palgrave, Friday, Sept. 21.

There will be Flamenco dancers (and lessons for those who want to try it for themselves), Spanish wine tasting and a demonstration of classical riding in the Spanish style. Leather fashions and gorgeous shawls will be for sale.

The Kids & Horses Foundation is a non-profit organization located in Caledon.

It is dedicated to giving children, whose families do not have the financial resources, the opportunity to take riding lessons. The foundation provides summer and March break camps, and weekly instruction.

The foundation also awards scholarships to students who wish to pursue careers in the horse industry.

Parents and teachers are confirming the foundation's belief that children benefit greatly from their interaction with horses. They are reporting that young people involved in this program have shown improvement in interpersonal relationships, school, self confidence and self discipline. The foundation is very proud of these young people and the positive program results.

Dress is casual & comfortable. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased from Diana Wronski at 905-584-5838.
