Kinsmen hold debate

The Kinsmen Club of Bolton has established a tradition of hosting all candidates debates for federal, provincial and municipal candidates running for office in our ridings, specifically those running for office in the Bolton community. The Bolton Kinsmen debates are designed for the general population and all voters are invited to attend. Typically, between 200-300 voters attend along with the local press.

For the upcoming provincial election, the Kinsmen are once again hosting an all-candidates' debate and they're inviting all registered candidates to participate. This year, the event will be held Monday, Oct. 1 at Humberview secondary school in the auditorium. While the format has yet to be finetuned, typically they have opening remarks followed by candidate responses to various issues and questions from the audience. In all, the candidate session will last roughly one to 1 1/2 hours. This year with the added dimension of the MMP referendum, there will be a debate on that subject before the candidate debate takes place. Knowledgeable speakers representing each side will present and this will session will last roughly 30 minutes to one hour.
