Bolton and Erin place first in tennis league

For the third straight season the Bolton Blasters have captured first place in the A Division of the Caledon- Dufferin Interclub Tennis League in 2007.

In the B Division, the team from Erin had an impressive season on its way to taking top spot.

The defending regular season and playoff champion Blasters finished the A Division season with 577 points in 12 fixtures, edging out the second-place Orangeville Express which ended up with 575 points. The Caledon Court Jesters placed third with 497 points, followed by the Palgrave Panthers with 466, Belfountain Beaujolais with 369, Caledon East Crushers with 362 and Mono Centre Champions with 346.

Erin led the B Division with 632 points in 14 fixtures. Last year's regular season and playoff champions, the Palgrave Put-Aways, took second place with 615 points. Next were the Caledon East Cee Bees with 600, Inglewood with 595, Orangeville Hot Shots with 588, Bolton Racqueteers with 521, Caledon Canucks with 485 and Mono Centre Monsters with 393.

The league playoffs will be held Saturday, Sept. 15 with the A Division teams battling at Caledon Tennis Club and the B Division teams playing at Palgrave Tennis Club.
