Midnight Madness hits Bolton this Friday

The Midnight Madness celebration in Bolton is set to go this Friday with an assortment of entertainment and games for the thousands expected to attend.

The annual event is organized by the Bolton Business Improvement Area. Queen Street North will be closed to traffic from King Street to Mill Street starting at 4 p.m. Friday.

The bandstand entertainment lineup includes Miss Jenny, Can Tai Lion Dance, Caledon Concert Band, Rock Star, New Hollywood and Your New Neighbours. The stage and sound setup will be provided by Music 21. Party Magic has reserved 150 chairs. The evening's MC will be BIA chair Deborah Read of Read Marketing.

In the former Harvest Markets parking lot there will be a dunk tank, jump and bounce, pitching gage and hay wagon ride.

In the Royal Courtyards there will be the Flipside skateboard park, rock climbing and a Tai Chi demonstration.

Kings on Queen will host a billiards tournament.

The Mortgage Centre will have face painting at 43 Queen St. N.

The Bolton fire station will be open for a public tour.

Many of the BIA merchants will be holding sidewalk sales. The BIA will be selling glow sticks and baseball hats.

Draw prizes will be offered by Read Marketing, Beachcomber Hot Tub, Prudential Select Real Estate, Herbal Magic, Riverside Grill, Global Wireless, Toby Jug and Thruway Muffler.

Food vendors include Rotary Club of Bolton with hamburgers, sausage and poutine, Rotary Club of Palgrave with bacon on a bun, Kinsmen Club of Bolton serving pizza, Zaganella's serving Mediterranean food and gelato, Sugar Rush with candy floss, Best Baked Potato serving potatoes and corn on the cob, and Mr. Frosty Treats will have its ice cream truck.

Extra garbage containers will be supplied by the Town of Caledon.

Caledon OPP will have one regular officer and six auxiliary officers on site.

A shuttle bus sponsored by the Royal Bank will take people up the south hill to the businesses there also taking part. They include Giant Tiger, Dairy Queen, Hilltop Florist, Forster's Book Garden, Toby Jug, Alexanders and Liquidation World.

Another good time should be had by all.
