Weapons call in Bolton

On Thursday, Aug. 9 just before 10 p.m., four people entered an apartment at 24 Shore St. in Bolton. One person was observed to be in possession of a handgun. Caledon OPP officers responded and set up containment of the area.

Ontario Provincial Police Tactical Response Unit, Emergency Response Unit, OPP Canine and officers from Caledon OPP Major Crime Unit responded to assist the Caledon officers on scene.

Shortly before midnight, six males and three females exited the building and were taken into custody. They were all transported to the Caledon OPP detachment in Bolton.

The apartment was searched and an air pistol was located. In appearance, the air pistol was found to be very similar to a handgun, but on close examination it was identified as an imitation.

Three 19-year-old males, two 17-year-old males and three female youth were given police warnings and released without charges.

Michael Ciccone, 18, of Toronto, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and will appear in court Sept. 17.
