Exciting play as Wanderers hit mid-season As we pass the mid-point of this season, the Bolton Wanderers Soccer Club would like to thank all sponsors for their support of the club's recreational league. The club also extends its most sincere apologies for any errors and/or omissions that may have been made in any previous highlight reports. Achieving perfection is a goal all club volunteers strive to achieve and very much like player development, this is ongoing process. Here are the highlights from the week of July 16 Under 4 Boys Team Mexico's MVP for Tuesday, July 17 was Mateo Zeppieri, who played an exceptional game. Mateo was great offensively, defensively and as goalie. Rainbow Academy/Team Japan's MVP went to Tristan Tucci. Tristian played at full speed and with enthusiasm improving his game 100 per cent. MVP for Germany was Aman Bahra. Aman scored his first goal of the season. Under 6 Boys USA's Team MVP was Justin Chiodo who turned in a superb game scoring three goals. Also scoring were Anthony Maniscalco and Adamo Calvano. Under 8 Boys Aspen Inc./Team Germany's MVP went to David Mastropaolo, who helped out his team scoring an amazing four goals against Canada! Other contributors were Gabriel Amaral scoring two goals and Steven Brum netting one goal. Team Portugal had two MVPs: Jordan Mezzapelli and Euan Nicol who both contributed goals in a strong game against England. Under 8 Girls Alterna Savings/Denmark's MVP was Erica Malascalza. Erica played both goalie and forward. As a forward she scored a goal and as keeper she made fine saves. Christina Favot also scored a goal, and Hannah Skrinar and Isabella Arignello netting two each against Canadian Tire/England. Under 10 Boys Dundee Little Chips/Brazil doubled up on Switzerland by a score of 8- 4. On Brazil, three players scored two each: Christian Massone, Vincent Figliomeni and Nicholas Biamonte. Connor Thompson got one, and the goal of the match was a header by Daniel Rovito. Another contest saw a 3-3 tie between Canadian Tire/England and Newtron Group/Italy. England's goals were from three different players, Adriano Gravina, Justin Burt, and Braydon Rocca. Under 10 Girls Canadian Tire/England faced Katie's Fitness/Netherlands in a tough game and went ahead two nil in the first half. Netherlands' forward Julie French netted a goal in the second half but fell short to a strong England squad. Final score: England 2, Netherlands 1. Under 12 Boys Rennie Lift/Portugal overtook Caledon Karate/Italy 6-2. Italy's Eric Croft on Italy scored two goals in the first five minutes to give his team an early lead, but with two goals by Carlo Satira, two by Andrew Villella, and one each by Nathan Doig and Philip D'Aloia, Portugal came back and won. Canadian Tire/England outlasted JS Auto Body/Brazil 3-2, and Eurosteel/Canada won 4-3 over Nusportswear/Germany. Under 12 Girls Sora Construction/Brazil against Reliable Mechanical/Germany ended in a nailbiter 3-3 tie. Brazil's markers came from Amanda Williams, Nadia De Novellis and Alyssandra Abballe. |
