New CE arena home for hockey and figure skating

Caledon Centennial Skating Club is excited about expanding its programs to the new arena in Caledon East.

In fact, the club is getting a jump start on the regular season by offering a fourweek mini-school of programs during September.

For hockey players, there is power skating. These sessions will allow players to get back their skating legs. Drills are specifically designed with the hockey player in mind. Full hockey equipment is required.

Figure skaters will also have the opportunity to get ready for their season. Onehour sessions will be held for senior skaters as well as a combined session for junior and intermediate skaters.

Also being offered is the popular Creative Expressions class for intermediate and senior level skaters. This class works under the direction of a coach for the full session concentrating on basic skills such as edges, power, flexibility and endurance. Skaters from other clubs are most welcome to come to these four weeks.

All classes will be held at the Caledon East arena on Thursdays in September. Registration will be held Thursday, Aug. 30, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the new arena in Caledon East beside the community centre. For more information, call Cathy at 905-838-2246 or email: ccsc10@yahoo.ca.

And don't forget, the regular fall season for Caledon Centennial Skating Club will commence Sept. 30. Programs will be offered at both Lloyd Wilson Centennial Arena in Inglewood and at the Caledon East arena. Registration will be held Thursday, Sept. 13 and Tuesday, Sept. 18, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lloyd Wilson Centennial Arena.
