False identity given to police

As a result of a vehicle stop for traffic enforcement on Regional Road 50 near Patterson Sideroad on Thursday, June 28, two men were charged with criminal offences.

Further investigation has revealed that at the time of arrest, one of the two men identified himself to police using another person's name.

Jason Teixeira, 26, of Caledon, falsely identified himself to police and has subsequently been charged with Obstruct Police, Personation with Intent, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Possession of Break-In Instruments.

Teixeira was charged and held for a bail hearing July 20.

John Raso, 25, of Caledon, was incorrectly identified as one of the two men originally charged and was later found not to be involved in the incident. All charges against Raso have been withdrawn.
