RIDE check results in drug charges for four

Caledon OPP Officers responded to 17 property damage and three personal injury collisions during the week of July 23-29.

High Milers

of the Week

Friday, July 27, at about 6:57 p.m., a Caledon OPP officer observed a motor vehicle travelling at an extreme high rate of speed on Kennedy Road near Beech Grove Sideroad in Caledon. Fifty-four year old, Mario Urbano, 54, of Nobleton, was charged with Speeding-143 kilometres per hour in a 60-km-h posted zone. Court date for the 83- km-h over charge was set for Aug. 30.

Sunday July 29, at about 12:40 a.m., a Caledon OPP officer observed a motor vehicle travelling at an extreme high rate of speed on Airport Road, south of Finnerty Sideroad in Caledon. Fausto Di-Pole, 58, of Aurora, was charged with Speeding-166 km-h in an 80-km-h posted zone. Court date for the 86 km-h over charge was set for Aug. 30.

Alcohol & Driving

Monday, July 23, the driver involved in a single motor vehicle collision on McLaughlin Road near Mayfield Road has been charged. Adebayo Osibajo, 38, of Toronto, was charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood. He was given a court date of Aug. 23.

Monday, July 23, a vehicle stop for a Highway Traffic Act offence on Regional Road 50 near Mayfield Road resulted in a criminal charge for the vehicle driver. Julio Alaniz, 29, of Toronto, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood and Class G2 Licence Holder-Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero. Court date was set for Aug. 23.

Monday, July 23, a driver involved in a two-vehicle collision in a parking lot off Albion-Vaughan Road has been charged. Kim Welch, 55, of North York, was charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor. He will appear in court Aug. 23.

Thursday, July 26, a followup by police of a traffic complaint on Regional Road 50 and Ellwood Drive in Bolton, resulted in criminal charges. Nicola Morris- Lichacz, 50, of Caledon, was charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. She will appear in court Aug. 23.

Friday, July 27, the driver of a vehicle involved in a motor vehicle collision on Highway 10 near The Grange Sideroad was charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood. Rajinder Singh Gill, 37, of Woodbridge, will appear in court Aug. 30 in answer to these charges.

Saturday, July 28, Christopher Moores, 28, of Brampton, was charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood following a traffic stop on Heart Lake Road near Old School Road in Caledon. He will appear in court Sept. 13.

Assault

Tuesday, July 24, a dispute at a business office located on McEwan Drive in Bolton led to charges. Michael Scheibe, 23, of Caledon, was charged with Assault with a Weapon, Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest, Utter Threats to Cause Death, Mischief- Under $5,000 and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana. Court date was set for Aug. 20.

Break & Enter

Monday, July 23, a vacant home on Airport Road was entered sometime during the previous week. Several windows and doors were smashed.

Tuesday, July 24, sometime over the past week, a garage of a Cranston Drive residence was entered and a set of golf clubs were stolen.

Thursday, July 26, during the night hours, an Old School Road business office and garage were entered. Cash has been reported stolen from the building.

Saturday, July 28, a front door of a Highway 10 business was smashed during the night hours. Cash was stolen from the building.

Sunday, July 29, a basement window was pried open to allow entry into a home on St. Andrew's Road during the daytime hours. Jewelry and two figurines were stolen from the home.

Drugs

Wednesday, July 25, several charges were laid against three people after police checked a parked vehicle on Brandiff Court in Caledon East. Andrew Ryan, 21, of Montreal, and Alexander Famili, 20, of Montreal, were both charged with Possession for the Purpose, Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana and Possession Schedule I-Other Drugs. Both men will appear in court Sept. 10. Elizabeth Hughes, 19, of Caledon, was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance- Marijuana. She will appear in court Sept. 10.

Wednesday, July 25, a vehicle checked at a RIDE spot check location on Mississauga Road, south of King Street, resulted in charges for the four occupants of the vehicle. Jason Rebelo, 22, Jeffrey Cordeiro, 20, Robert Costa, 20, and Kevin Soares, 20, were all charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana and Possession of Cannabis Resin. The four males, all from Georgetown, will appear in Orangeville court Aug. 27.

Mischief

Monday, July 23, a construction site manager for a school addition at a Harvest Moon Drive location reported a construction fence was knocked down and a portable toilet was tipped over.

Stolen/Recovered

Vehicles

Monday, July 23, a vehicle registered to a Brampton address, but not yet reported as stolen, was located in Caledon on Airport Road and Cranston Road. Air bags had been removed from the vehicle, the stereo and heating console was removed and the ignition was punched. The passenger side window was also smashed.

Wednesday, July 25, a vehicle that had been reported stolen from the Toronto area was stopped by Caledon OPP officers on Coleraine Drive, south of King Street in Bolton. The three occupants of the vehicle were all arrested and charged. Suvisan Anparasan, 22, of Brampton, was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Drive Disqualified, Breach of Probation, Breach of Recognizance and Drive While Under Suspension. He was held for a bail hearing July 25. Jasjit Dhaliwal, 20, of Brampton, was charged with Possession Property Obtained by Crime, Drive Disqualified and Drive While Under Suspension. He was also held for a July 25 bail hearing. Annuprijan Manohararajah, 20, of Brampton, was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and he was given a court date of Sept. 6.

Wednesday, July 25, a pickup truck that was registered to a Newmarket address was located abandoned and on fire in a field on Shaw's Creek Road.

Saturday, July 28, a 15- year-old Caledon male was arrested on Beech Grove Sideroad in Caledon after driving a stolen car into a ditch. The vehicle had been stolen from a Brampton address. He was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and will appear in court Sept. 10.

Theft

Monday, July 23, windows were forced open of a car parked at a Kennedy Road address overnight. The DVD player and two car mats were reported stolen.

Monday, July 23, a car stereo was stolen from an unlocked car left parked in a Kennedy Road driveway sometime over the weekend.

Tuesday, July 24, sometime over the weekend, parts from a boat motor were stolen from a boat parked on a trailer at a Piercey Road business location in Bolton.

Thursday, July 26, sometime overnight, a camper trailer was stolen from a driveway on Giles Road in Caledon.

Saturday, July 28, a vehicle parked at a Senator Way home in Bolton was entered during the night hours. Nothing was taken from the vehicle. However, other vehicles parked on Senator Way were entered and cell phones, clothing and CDs were reported stolen.

Saturday, July 28, an unlocked vehicle was entered during the night hours while left parked in a Forest Gate Avenue driveway. Loose change was stolen from the ashtray. Another vehicle parked on Forest Gate was also entered. Loose change and a cell phone were stolen.

Domestic Disputes

OPP officers responded to five domestic disputes between July 23 and July 28. No charges were laid in two incidents July 23 and 24 in Caledon and July 26 in Bolton. Charges were laid in two incidents both occurring July 28 in Caledon.

Family Disputes

Officers responded to family disputes July 25 and 26 in Caledon. Charges were laid in the July 26 case.
