Incidents of rocks thrown at passing vehicles
Caledon OPP officers responded to 14 property damage and four personal injury collisions during the week of July 16-23.
High Miler
of the Week
Friday, July 20 at about 12:52 a.m., a Caledon OPP officer observed a motor vehicle travelling at an extreme high rate of speed on Airport Road near Finnerty Sideroad in Caledon. Sarah Leonardo, 17, of Caledon, was charged with Speeding-145 kilometres per hour in an 80-km-h posted zone. Court date for the 65-kilometre over charge is set for Aug. 16.
Alcohol & Driving
Saturday, July 21, a traffic stop on Highway 10 near Beech Grove Sideroad for a Highway Traffic Act offence resulted in a criminal charge for the driver. Jonathon White, 23, of Caledon, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood. Court date was set for Aug. 23.
Break & Enter
Sunday, July 22, a business on Allan Drive in Bolton was entered during the night hours by prying open a front door. Nothing was stolen, however, minor damage from broken glass was reported.
Tuesday, July 10, a shed at a Mount Hope Road property was entered and two bicycles were stolen. Homeowners believe entry to the residence was also made, however, nothing has been reported stolen from within the home.
Saturday, July 14, a business located on Bramalea Road was entered during the night hours by prying open a door. Cash was reported as stolen.
Drugs
Sunday, July 22, a vehicle check on Lwiw Road in Terra Cotta resulted in charges for the passenger of the vehicle. Richard Gilberg, 19, of Caledon, was charged with Possession for the Purpose and Possession of Marijuana. Court date was set for Aug. 27.
Mischief
Monday, July 16, a driver's side window of a vehicle was smashed out and scratches caused to the paint while the vehicle was left parked in a Frank Johnston Road driveway. The damage was caused just after midnight. The homeowner heard the smashing glass and saw a male running down the street.
Monday, July 16, a vehicle windshield was hit by a rock causing it to crack while driving on Main Street in Alton near the school. The driver turned the car around after being hit and returned to the school lot. Several youth were then seen running into the wooded area behind the school.
Wednesday, July 18, a driver of a vehicle reported damage caused by rocks being thrown at his vehicle. After hearing the thud of the rock against the vehicle, the driver reported seeing several youth running up the west side hill of Regional Road 50 in Bolton near the library.
Saturday, July 21, homeowners on Sheardown Trail, one on Riverwood Terrace and another on Southbury Manor Drive in Bolton reported their homes and a vehicle were damaged by eggs.
Stolen Vehicles
Monday, July 16, a vehicle was stolen during the night hours while it was left parked in a Charleston Sideroad driveway.
Thursday, July 19, a vehicle, which had been marked "For Sale" and left parked in a business parking lot on Airport Road near King Street, was stolen sometime overnight.
Sunday, July 22, a pickup truck was stolen from the driveway of a Highway 10 address sometime overnight.
Theft
Wednesday, July 18, a pickup truck was entered while left in a Martha Street parking lot during the afternoon hours. Several tools were reported stolen.
Wednesday, July 18, a gas-powered grass trimmer was reported stolen from the back of a pickup. The theft occurred while the vehicle was left in a parking lot at Highway 10 and Charleston Sideroad for a short time during the afternoon hours.
Friday, July 20, during the night hours, a vehicle was entered while left parked overnight in the driveway of a Lismer Crescent residence in Bolton. Change and food products were stolen from the vehicle.
Saturday, July 21, a vehicle was entered during the night hours while parked at a Harvest Moon Drive address. The owner reports that an iPod and three credit cards were stolen from within.
Sunday, July 22, an office trailer located on Holland Drive in Bolton was entered sometime over the last week. A laptop and hard drive were reported stolen.
Sunday, July 22, a business on McEwan Drive in Bolton reported cash stolen from a back room of the business during normal retail hours.
Monday, July 9, a locked pickup truck parked at a Harvest Moon Drive residence was entered during the night hours. A door was pried open and tools were stolen from within.
Tuesday, July 10, Caledon OPP made an arrest in connection with a suspicious vehicle complaint. The vehicle was located on De Rose Avenue with a small dirt bike in the back seat and a larger dirt bike stuffed in the vehicle's trunk. The dirt bikes had been stolen from a Castelli Court address less than one hour earlier. Other stolen items and tools were also located in the vehicle. Ricardo Policicchio, 18, of Caledon, was charged with Possession Property Obtained by Crime X3, Mischief-Under and Possession of Break-In Instruments. Policicchio will appear in court Aug. 9.
Wednesday, July 11, a vehicle parked overnight at a Mount Hope Road address was entered. A laptop computer and golf clubs were stolen.
Sunday, July 15, a global positioning system and a tape player were stolen from a vehicle parked overnight at a Longwood Drive residence in Bolton.
Criminal Charges
Wednesday, July 18, a Caledon OPP officer was northbound on Airport Road at roughly midnight. The officer observed a vehicle travelling southbound at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was observed overtaking another southbound vehicle in an unsafe manner causing the officer to take evasive action to avoid colliding with the vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated at which time the driver of the southbound vehicle lost control of the vehicle and it left the roadway into the ditch. Harpreet Deol, 19, of Brampton, was charged with the criminal offences of Drive Disqualified and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He was held for a bail hearing July 18.
Saturday, July 21, a traffic stop on an aggressive driver on Heart Lake Road near Mayfield Road at about 12:30 a.m. led to criminal charges for the driver. Jovon Chen, 18, of Brampton, was arrested and held for a bail hearing July 21, charged with Failing to Comply with Recognizance of Bail and Obstruct Police.
