Reno at '100 Hearts for a Cure' CF fund-raiser

Author Tosca Reno will be at 100 Hearts for a Cure, talking about her transformation and signing books.

Cystic fibrosis is a hereditary disease that slowly takes over the entire body - bringing about progressive disability and eventually an early death. Julia Goltsis has a daughter fighting this terrible disease. Julia thought that if 100 people each put on a fund-raiser and raised at least $1,000 each, they could together raise at least $100,000 to combat CF. Armed with this idea, she created 100 Hearts for a Cure.

Thursday, July 26, 100 events will be taking place to raise this money (or more), and one of them is happening right in Caledon East. Belying the gravity of the reason for its existence, the event itself will be tons of fun for local women.

A makeup artist will be present to give makeovers, which you'll be glad you've had when the York region firefighters show up! There will be belly dancers, a wonderful dinner, refreshments, and a few surprises. As the piece de resistance, national celebrity and local woman, best-selling author Tosca Reno, will talk about how she went from an unhappy, obese 40-year-old to a stunning cover model and fitness star at 48! The Caledon woman is known for her book, The Eat-Clean Diet. You don't want to miss her inspiring, motivational story.

When Celine Dion heard about this event, she was so moved that she offered a prize: Two tickets to one of her final performances at Caesar's Palace, including three nights' accommodation! Other raffle prizes include one of three oneyear subscriptions to Oxygen magazine.
