Impaired drivers get pulled over by police

Caledon OPP officers responded to 11 property damage and three personal injury collisions during the week of June 3-8.

High Miler

of the Week

Monday, July 2, during the morning hours, a Caledon OPP officer observed a motor vehicle travelling at an extreme high rate of speed on Highway 9 near Mount Hope Road in Caledon. Matthew Bogner, 20, of Caledon, was charged with Speeding-151 kilometres per hour in an 80-km-h posted zone. Court date for the 71-km-h over charge is set for Aug. 2.

Alcohol & Driving

Monday, July 2, a traffic complaint on Highway 10 near Highway 9 led to a charge. Tyler Thompson, 24, of Orangeville was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle- Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood. Court date has been set for Aug. 2.

Thursday, July 5, a Caledon officer conducting a road closure on Mayfield Road near Heart Lake Road for construction purposes observed a vehicle driving through the traffic barriers on to the closed road. Brendan Moran, 18, of Brampton, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood, Drive on Closed Highway and Class G2 Licence Holder-Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero. His court date was set for Aug. 16.

Friday, July 6, Caledon officers conducted a RIDE spot check at Regional Road 50 and Queensgate Boulevard. An officer located on 5th Sideroad near Regional Road 50 stopped a vehicle for the purpose of a RIDE spot check. The driver was subsequently charged with Fail to Provide Breath Sample-Approved Screening Device. Daniel Partland, 53, of Caledon will appear in court Aug. 9.

Friday, July 6, 52-yearold Jorge Moreira of Oakville was charged with Drive-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Red Light-Fail to Stop following a traffic infraction on Regional Road 50 at Castlederg Sideroad. He was given a court date of Aug. 9.

Saturday, July 7, a vehicle stopped on McLaughlin Road in Inglewood for traffic enforcement purposes, resulted in charges for the driver. Matthew Gould, 20, of Caledon was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood, Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana and Class G2 Licence Holder-Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero. Court date was set for Aug. 13.

Saturday, July 7, a vehicle check at King Street and Station Road in Bolton led to a criminal charge. Matthew Ridd, 43, of Bolton, was charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood. He will appear in court Aug. 16.

Saturday, July 7, a vehicle stop on Valleywood Boulevard near Highway 10 resulted in a criminal charge. Peter Turner, 48, of Caledon, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood and will appear in court Aug. 16.

Break & Enter

Monday, July 2, a shed at a De Rose Avenue home was entered during the night hours. A net for a trampoline is missing.

Monday, July 2, sometime overnight, a King Street residential garage in Bolton was entered by smashing of a back window. Tools and beer were reported stolen from the garage.

Thursday, July 5, during the early morning hours, culprit( s) entered an open side door of a garage at a De Rose Avenue home in Bolton. Tools were reported stolen.

Friday, July 6, a home under construction on Centreville Creek Road in Caledon was entered during the night hours. Several brand new appliances were stolen.

Saturday, July 7, golf clubs were reported stolen from an Ewart Street garage in Bolton during the night hours.

Drugs

Saturday, July 7, the driver of a vehicle found parked on Polenta Crescent near Piercey Road in Bolton was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana. Daniel Da Luz, 20, of Orangeville, will appear in court Aug. 13 in answer to this charge.

Saturday, July 7, a vehicle check at a RIDE spot check at Valleywood Boulevard and Royal Valley Drive resulted in a charge. Jon Reed, 23, of Caledon, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana and will appear in court Aug. 6.

Sunday, July 8, a passenger of a vehicle stopped on Highway 9 near Highway 10 was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana. Kyle Benjamin, 21, of Mount Forest, will appear in court Aug. 13.

Mischief

Monday, July 2, Caledon officers responded to a call from a security guard who wanted to report a broken window at a school on Allan Drive. The security guard reported the incident shortly after midnight.

Monday, July 2, a rear window of a vehicle was smashed while it was left parked in a driveway of a Humbershed Crescent home in Bolton during the night hours.

Monday, July 2, 30-yearold Dana McGolrick of Caledon was charged with Mischief-Under $5,000 for kicking in a glass door of a business located on Queen Street near King Street in Bolton. Court date is set for Aug. 2.

Saturday, July 7, a business on Queen Street near Allan Drive in Bolton reported damages caused to an exterior wall due to graffiti. The damage was caused during the late evening or night hours.

Saturday, July 7, a rock was used to smash a window of a car parked during the night hours at a Bowes Court residence in Bolton. The car stereo was reported stolen.

Recovered Vehicles

Friday, July 6, a four-door car that had been stolen from the Toronto area was located abandoned in a golf course parking lot north of Bolton. The ignition had been punched. Another vehicle, a pickup truck that had been left locked was stolen from the same parking lot that same day.

Theft

Monday, July 2, two trees were reported stolen from a nursery business on Airport Road during the night hours.

Monday, July 2, a vehicle was entered some time overnight while parked at a King Street residence. Power tools were reported stolen. Another vehicle parked at a different King Street residence was also entered. Cash was reported stolen from the vehicle.

Tuesday, July 3, a vehicle parked at a Tarquini Crescent home in Bolton was entered during the night hours. The car stereo and an iPod were stolen.

Friday, July 6, sometime overnight, a gas yard trimmer was stolen from a shed of a De Rose Avenue home in Bolton.

Saturday, July 7, a vehicle parked at a Royal Valley Drive residence in Valleywood was entered during the night hours. Sunglasses were taken from the vehicle.

Saturday, July 7, three vehicles at a Shaw's Creek Road address were entered during the night. Car stereo and other items were stolen from the vehicles.

Saturday, July 7, a cell phone and car charger were reported stolen from a car parked at a Valecrest Court residence in Valleywood sometime overnight.

Saturday, July 7, sometime overnight, a shed of an Airport Road property was entered. The property owner reported a generator, work tools and garden tools as stolen.

Sunday, July 8, a tape deck and day timer were stolen from an unlocked car parked on Stephen Drive in Bolton.

Criminal charges

Friday, July 6, a RIDE spot check on Olde Base Line Road near Creditview Road resulted in a criminal charge for the female driver. Dale Arthur, 42, of Angus, was charged with Drive Disqualified, Drive While Under Suspension and Drive with Open Container of Liquor. She will attend court Aug. 9.

Domestic Disputes

OPP officers responded to nine domestic disputes between July 2 and 8. Charges were laid in Bolton July 3 and Alton July 7. Officers responded to 10 domestic disputes between June 25 and June 30. Charges were laid in Caledon June 28 and in Bolton June 29 and 30.
