Sunday school makes a difference

Bruce Phillips, Kelsey Dale, Andrea Phillips, (front) Hannah Phillips, Isaac Phillips, Sierra Bennett and Sam Bennett all pitched in to "make a difference" contributing the Ryan's Well Foundation.
Recently, during the Lenten season, the Salem- Sandhill United Church Sunday school decided they would like to "make a difference." They came to the decision they would send their Lenten collections to a worthwhile mission. The small Sunday school with the big heart raised $91.66. This money was forwarded to Ryan's Well Foundation.

Ryan was a young boy who, at the age of six, learned that without access to clean water people became ill and often died. He set out to raise $70 towards building a well in Africa. He reached his goal in four months. He kept working, and by the age of 15 he raised more than $1.5 million. His work has changed the lives of thousands of African people who might not otherwise be able to lead healthy lives. The Ryan's Well Foundation continues this important and inspiring work.

The local Sunday school is proud to have been part of this amazing project.
