Tyke 2 Bandits shine in Midland

The Tyke 2 Bandits were finalists in the recent Midland tournament. Shown are (back) Matthew De Amicis, Noah Marshall, James Winslow, Patrick De Amicis, Ryan Eccleston, Bryce Thompson, (middle) Bailey Rocca, Connor Chisholm, Travis Mailhot, Evan Gray, Zachary White, (front) Hayden Saunders, Paton Dorval, Owen Blount-Smith, Adam Brennan, Aaron Vail. Coaches are Mark Thompson (back row), Sean Winslow and Marty Marshall (side), Guy Dorval (front).
The Canada Day weekend saw the Bandits lacrosse team travel to Midland to take part in the Midland Civitan Tournament.

The first game of the day saw the Bandits go up against the club from Orillia. The game went back and forth for two periods with no team having an edge in play. The start of the third period saw the Bandits exude a better fitness than the Orillians and the Bandits came up with a 6-3 victory.

In the second game of the day, the Bandits played the squad from the Six Nations. The Six Nations crew outweighed the Bandits by a wide margin. This advantage played into the Six Nations' favour as they had a 5-2 lead with roughly 7 minutes to go in the game. Not knowing what the words "give up" mean, the Bandits came back to tie the game at 5 apiece.

In the next game for Six Nations they needed a certain number of points over the team from Arthur, and they fell one short. This put the Bandits in the final.

Unfortunately the squad from Brantford was better on the day than the Bandits and they won the tournament.
