Brampton Civic Hospital on schedule

The early pages in the history book of William Osler Health Centre's new 608-bed Brampton Civic Hospital are now being written, as the construction completion and transfer of possession from The Healthcare Infrastructure Company of Canada (THICC) to William Osler Health Centre was made.

In a private ceremony held in the new facility's bright, modern, airy atrium, Gabriel Clerici of Ellis Don/Carillion JV, the construction contractor for the project, officially turned over the keys to newly appointed hospital board chair Duncan Glaholt and president and CEO, Robert A. Richards.

Constructing the country's largest health care infrastructure project has been complex and challenging. All partners are proud to announce that the $550 million construction project has been delivered on time and on budget - an incredible feat by any industry standard.

"EllisDon has a reputation for knowing how to build quality health care facilities," stated Richards. "The evidence of that quality, care and commitment to the project is reflected in every aspect of this mammoth undertaking."

Brampton Civic is one of Canada's first public hospitals to be designed, built, financed, and maintained under a privatepublic partnership.
