SENIOR OF THE YEAR

Mary Phelan was honoured by Caledon council with the 2007 Senior of the Year Award during Seniors Month in June. Phelan has been a volunteer driver with Meals on Wheels since 1993, a volunteer driver with the Cancer Society, coordinated the Daffodil Campaign in Caledon for many years and was named the Caledon Chamber of Commerce's Woman of the Year in 2003. She was joined in the presentation by her husband Hugh, Mayor Marolyn Morrison and councillors Doug Beffort, Richard Whitehead, Richard Paterak, Allan Thompson, Nick deBoer, Annette Groves, Gord McClure and Jason Payne.
