Residents outraged by motorists

To everyone whose child or children play soccer down near Deer Valley Dr., here is a news flash for you: You are driving through a subdivision where there are children playing, slow down!

When I was learning how to drive one of the first things I was taught was that when driving through a residential area it's a 40 zone! Did drivers who go to the soccer field miss this one? Someone in the Deer Valley, Bambi Trail area already took it upon themselves to post a sign for people to stop, apparently, the bright red octagon isn't enough for you, or you're choosing to ignore it and put the residents of this area at risk.

Another thing that I'd like to address is the ignorance of drivers to the residents of our subdivision. We live here so when we are trying to pull into and out of our driveways maybe you should be respectful enough to let us do so instead of honking your horns and shouting at us. These are our homes and because your child plays soccer where we live you do not have the right to think that you are more important than us! And if you have a problem with waiting two minutes so that we can live our lives in our homes, then there are two back ways that you are welcome to take instead of cutting through our homes.

We are original owners of these houses and when we bought our homes we were told that it was supposed to be a dead end.

Is it going to take someone's child getting hit by a car to get you to finally pay attention to this problem? My children have a right to play in their front yard and not be afraid that some speeding madman is going to hit them. They have a right to be safe and a right to be children.

One of our neighbors was told that her kids shouldn't be playing in the front yard. Aren't your kids allowed to play in your front yards? Or do you have to keep them locked in the back like cattle?

This problem has been going on for more than a decade so can someone please wake up! Either close off the end of the subdivision or put in speed bumps so these inconsiderate people will slow down, because obviously, they do not care enough about other people's children. Maybe they will care about bottoming out their cars and ruining them.

My children only have one front yard which they are entitled to play in. Please someone take action and stop this before someone gets hurt or worse and then there are bigger problems to face!
