Young student donates his hair

Adrian Franceschinis, 9, along with his mom and godfather/hairdresser Anthony Di Biase, recently donated his hair to Angel Hair for Kids.
Nine-year-old Adrian Marc Franceschinis grew his hair for more than two years, preparing for his big day of supporting the worthwhile charity, Angel Hair for Kids.

Adrian said he decided to give back to the community in this manner. He managed to grow his hair between 9 and 12 inches, which is substantial for a young boy.

June 19, at Caledon Central Public School, the principal allowed Adrian to have his hair cut in front of all of his fellow students. His godfather/hairdresser Anthony Di Biase had the honors of cutting his hair for the event.

Angel Hair for Kids is an organization that helps children who are dealing with the daily stresses of not having any hair due to illness or cancer treatments.

It costs approximately $800 to make a single wig. Adrian's goal was to collect enough donations to make at least one wig and he collected more than $950 to date and more is still coming in due the generous contributions from the school, neighbors, his hockey team, family, and friends.

If you would like to make a donation, you can at the following Web site, www.achildsvoicefoundation.com and donate through CANADA HELPS.

"This has inspired other kids to do the same and I hope to do this again in the near future," Adrian said.
