Travel trends in Peel revealed in cordon count
      The Region of Peel's recently concluded 2006 Cordon Count Program found that car and truck trips are continuing to grow rapidly in the Region of Peel. Program findings show that most Peel residents use cars to travel, and most drive alone.

Contract is awarded for McEwan work
      The contract for the completion of road works and sidewalks along McEwan Drive East in Bolton was recently awarded by Caledon council to IL Duca Contracting Inc. for its low bid of $233,976.50, excluding GST. There were seven other bids ranging in price from $256,539.50 to $366,000.

Municipal Infection Disease Plan approved

      A Municipal Infectious Disease Plan was recently approved by Caledon council following direction from the provincial government. Fire Chief Brad Bigrigg told council the province directed municipalities in 2006 to prepare contingency plans in the event of an outbreak of pandemic influenza.
