Rotarians extend thanks for support of annual Wines of World fund-raiser

Palgrave Rotary's 10th Wines of the World wine tasting event is now history. Like its predecessors it marks the high point in the club's annual fund-raising activities. All members, spouses and volunteers work hard to make it a memorable evening.

However, without the input and involvement of the community at large, including ongoing support from the Caledon Citizen, Wines of the World could not be the success it has become.

The club extends special thanks to our tent sponsors Cavalier Transportation and Ashton Ridge Homes, and to our associate sponsors - Bolton Toyota, McGillion Transport and the Caledon Equestrian Park. As well, we are indebted to some 17 organizations that took part as wine sponsors. A further 36 companies and groups were involved as food and support sponsors offering up a wide selection of tasty treats including BBQ beef, sausages, cheeses and sandwiches to complement the wines available.

Much of the success of the evening is due, of course, to the selection of wines for tasting. For that we rely on the excellent recommendations of our wine consultant Steve Thurlow.

And, of course, we offer our thanks to everyone who attended and participated in the wine tasting. In spite of a late afternoon weather scare, all went well and our 10th Wines of the World can be deemed a success. The Rotary Club of Palgrave looks forward to being your host at next year's event.
