Three ejected in serious collision

Saturday, June 23, at approximately 8:53 a.m. Caledon OPP and Caledon Emergency Service personnel responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 10, just south of Orangeville. The two-vehicle collision involved a four-door Chevrolet Cobalt and a Dodge Caravan.

Three of the five occupants of the van were ejected from the vehicle. The preliminary investigation reveals they were not wearing seat belts.

The van's driver, 20-year-old Nagraj Tut of Brampton was transported by air ambulance to St. Michael's Hospital. A passenger, 20-year-old Vrooj Siddiqui of Brampton was also transported by air ambulance to Sunnybrook Medical Centre. The remaining passengers of the van, 18-year-old Harpreet Malhi of Brampton, 20-year-old Marianne Do of Brampton and 19-year-old Krina Maharsuria of Brampton were all transported by land ambulance to Headwaters Hospital.

The driver of the car, 24-year-old Sarah Storkey of Orangeville was not injured.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit members attended the scene and the investigation is continuing. Any further witnesses to the collision are asked to contact Constable James Shay of Caledon OPP, 905-584-2241.
