Bolton Wanderers U16 boys' win gold

The Wanderers under-16 boys struck gold at the recent Barrie tournament.

Congratulations to the Bolton Wanderers Under 16 Boys rep team which recently struck gold at the Barrie Spirit Fest Soccer Tournament. Finalists at last year's tourney, coach Carlo Fantin's fine-tuning over the past two seasons has helped put the team on the road to success. However, it's the boys who are to be credited in having truly made the adjustments by bringing a new attitude to the field, one that's enabled this team to deal with challenges head-on.

Following an early morning loss to Sudbury Pan-Hellenic, the Wanderers collected themselves and rebounded to defeat the same Sudbury squad 2-0 in the championship final. Bolton posted a 4-1 overall tournament record and outscored its foes 14-5. Tournament goalscorers included Tristan Sweeney-Hendricks, Dwayne Smith, Mike Medeiros, Matthew Bradley and Steve Costa.
