Wanderers' West Caledon opening day a success!
By Wally Mikulski

Bolton Wanderers' West Caledon (Valleywood) Division celebrated the official opening of its 2007 season June 10. Fabulous sunshine provided the perfect backdrop for kickoff in a variety of recreational age divisions ranging from under four to 14.

Camaraderie and good sportsmanship were the order of the day - not to mention some great on field action! Festivities also included a player's parade and fund-raising activities. Princess Margaret Hospital was the prime fund-raising beneficiary receiving $3,000 donated in memory and honour of Lina Marino who had lost a battle with cancer. As one of the founding members of the Wanderers' Valleywood division, Lina dedicated much of her time to the betterment of the soccer club.

The Bolton Wanderers would like to thank all volunteers who made this year's opening day in Valleywood a success, as well as local sponsors that continue to support keeping our youth fit and enjoying the "beautiful game."
