Bolton firefighters to conduct home visits The Town of Caledon's Fire & Emergency Services Department takes a proactive approach to the prevention and control of fire through community education. From now through Sept. 30, the Bolton firefighters will conduct residential home visits in the village of Bolton. The firefighters will distribute information and answer questions about fire safety during these visits. "On average, our Fire & Emergency Services staff respond to over 2,000 calls each year," said Mayor Marolyn Morrison. "Educating our community about fire safety and prevention is one of the most important things that Fire Services does." In addition to the education campaign in the village of Bolton, Caledon firefighters participate in community and school events across the entire town where efforts are targeted at groups identified as the most "at risk." These groups range from nursery school children to senior citizens, and resources are deployed in areas where the greatest impact can be achieved.
