Several youth charged during OPP bike patrols

Caledon OPP officers responded to 16 property damage and four personal injury collisions during the week of May 28 to June 3.

High Miler

of the Week

Wednesday, May 30, at roughly 2:06 a.m., a Caledon OPP officer observed a motor vehicle traveling at an extreme high rate of speed on Highway 10 near Old School Road in Caledon. Thirty-eight-year-old Jose Gomes of Mississauga was charged with Speeding-140 km/hour in an 80-km/hour posted zone. Court date for the 60-kilometre-over charge is set for June 28.

Alcohol & Driving

Friday, June 1, a motorist alerted police to an erratic driver westbound on King Street. Police conducted a traffic stop on King Street near Mississauga Road, which resulted in the arrest of the driver.

Fifty-six-year-old William Nethery of Richmond Hill was charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Drive with Open Container of Liquor. Court date has been set for July 5.

Saturday, June 2, a driver was charged following a R.I.D.E. spot check at King Road and Caledon-King Town Line. Forty-one-yearold Doug Robinson of Caledon was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood and given a date of July 12, to appear in court in answer to that charge.

Break & Enter

Monday, May 28, a garage of a Hesp Drive residence in Bolton was entered during the night hours. Culprit(s) pried open a back door of the garage to gain entry. A set of golf clubs has been reported stolen.

Tuesday, May 29, a Taylorwood residential garage in Bolton was entered during the night hours. A blue mountain bike was stolen from the garage.

Wednesday, May 30, during the mid-day hours, a Bowes Court home in Bolton was entered through a rear basement window. A lap top computer has been reported stolen.

Friday, June 1, a trailer parked in the driveway of a Headwater Road home in Bolton was entered during the night hours. A blue and yellow professional Go-Kart with the number 96 was stolen.

Saturday, June 2, a school portable on Landsbridge Street was entered during the night hours. A lap top computer and CD player have been reported stolen.

Drugs

Friday, June 1, a traffic stop on Highway 10 near The Grange Sideroad led to a charge for the vehicle's passenger. Twenty-six-year-old Johnny Southivong of Brampton has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marihuana and will appear in court June 25.

Mischief

Monday, May 28, a window of a construction trailer on Ellwood Drive was smashed sometime over the weekend. Nothing was reported stolen from the trailer. A second construction trailer at another location on Kingsview Drive was damaged when culprit(s) attempted to break-in. Damages were caused to the door handle and door frame.

Friday, June 1, an attempt to enter a Kennedy Road home was made during the daytime hours. Damages were caused to two windows and a screen during the attempt to enter.

Saturday, June 2, car tires were slashed while it was parked overnight in a Glasgow Road driveway.

Recovered Vehicles

Tuesday, May 29, two pickup trucks that had been reported stolen from York Region were located abandoned on Duffy's Lane south of Finnerty Sideroad. The ignitions had been punched.

Wednesday, May 30, a vehicle stolen from York Region was located abandoned on Perdue Court off Airport Road just north of Mayfield Road. The car was found on blocks and all four tires missing. Both front seats as well as the rear seat were also missing.

Saturday, June 2, a 53- three-foot trailer has been reported stolen from a business lot on Albion-Vaughan Town Line in Bolton.

Theft

Monday, May 28, three tires and rims were removed and stolen from a recreational trailer parked at a Regional Road 50 business in Bolton. The theft occurred sometime over the weekend.

Tuesday, May 29, a chainsaw was stolen from the driveway of a Newlove Drive home while the homeowner had stepped around the side of the house. A male wearing a black hoodie pulled over his head was seen taking the chain saw and leaving in a small red car.

Tuesday, May 29, 21- year-old Giovanni Lucca of Weston was charged with Theft-Under for failing to pay for fuel after leaving a gas station on Queen Street in Bolton. Court date set for June 14.

Sunday, June 3, a car was broken into while parked in a lot off Regional Road 50, south of Palgrave. A purse has been reported stolen from the car.

Sunday, June 3, a wallet has been reported stolen from a vehicle left parked in a retail parking lot on Queen Street in Bolton during the night hours.

Criminal Charges

Tuesday, May 29, a vehicle stop at King & Queen Street resulted in criminal charges for both the driver and passenger. The vehicle's driver, 32-year-old Amanda Graystone of Tottenham was charged with Impaired Driving and Possession of a Controlled Substance. She has been given a court date of July 9. The passenger, Jacqueline Moore of New Tecumseth was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Breach of Probation. She was held for a bail hearing May 29.

Wednesday, May 30 an ongoing dispute between several persons have led to charges for 43-year-old Marco Rea of Caledon. He was arrested and held for a 31 May bail hearing, charged with Assault With a Weapon and three counts of Utter Threats.

Sunday, June 3, a Caledon officer conducted a traffic stop on Mayfield Road near Coleraine Drive, which resulted in criminal charges for the driver who gave a false identity to the officer. Forty-three-year-old Scott Seaboyer of Stouffville was charged with Personation with Intent, Obstruct Police Officer, Breach of Probation and Drive While Under Suspension. He was held for a bail hearing June 4.

Bike Patrols

Caledon officers and Caledon Auxiliary members have been actively patrolling the harder to reach areas of Caledon by utilizing Caledon OPP Bicycle Patrols. As an example, during the evening hours of Friday, May 25 and into the night, officers and auxiliary members conducted bike patrols in the villages of Cataract, Belfountain and Valleywood. As a result of these patrols eight charges were laid under several offences such as Persons Under 19 years of age- Possess Alcohol, Persons Under 19 years of age- Consume Alcohol, Class G2 Driver-Alcohol Concentration Above Zero, Drive-Open Container of Alcohol and Open Container of Alcohol in Public Place. Seven warnings were also given during that particular bike patrol duty.

Domestic Disputes

Caledon OPP officers responded to seven domestic disputes between May 28 and June 3. Charges were laid May 28 in Bolton and Caledon; May 30 in Bolton; May 31 in Caledon and June 2 in Bolton.
